Academy Embraces Snow Sports Athlete
For the first time in Western Sydney Academy history snow sports have found a place among our programs. Lachlan Greentree is an alpine skier from Rouse Hill who has recently been accepted into the 2017 Heartland Motors Lone Star program. Lachlan has been skiing since 2011 where he found his calling on family holiday to the snow.
The Perisher Winter Sports Club athlete is looking forward to learning more about sport and meeting other athletes on the journey to achieving his goals at the Academy. Lachlan’s major sporting goal is to compete at the Winter Olympics, representing Australia in giant slalom, slalom and skier cross. After placing 2nd in the Intercontinental Cup at Big White Ski Resort in Canada we think he is well on his journey to achieving greatness.
Lachlan tells of his inspiration Sami Kennedy-Sim, a freestyle skier who has overcome some difficult challenges, suffering a stroke two months prior to the latest Winter Olympics.
When we asked Lachlan to give us the best advice he has received he told us “push through it and you can achieve”.
