Academy Joins Team Callaway
The Western Sydney Academy of Sport (WSAS) is very pleased to announce that it has entered into a partnership with one of the giants of the golfing landscape, Callaway Golf, providing an opportunity for their golf athletes to access one of the most respected brands on the market.
WSAS launched the partnership on 18 January at Twin Creeks Golf and Country Club in Luddenham, home to the golf program.
Each member of the golf squad were given the opportunity to try out the latest offerings from Callway, some of which have not hit the consumer market as yet along with being fitted for all aspects of their game by former PGA EuroPro Tour player and Callaway staff member Colin Mitchell.
Colin put each member through rigorous testing using the latest FlightScope technology to analyse every aspect of their game to determine what clubs they should be using and providing them with a lesson in how to read and analyse the feedback that the system is providing.
Academy CEO Martin Bullock was excited about the partnership with Callaway “It is a wonderful opportunity to form a partnership with a company at the forefront of the golfing market. This arrangement will ensure that our athletes are afforded every opportunity to perform at their highest potential by utilising the latest technology that Callaway applies to all their products”, he said.
The squad was also visited on the day by Sports Psychologist John Crampton who gave them an insight into the benefits of a consistent pre shot routine and the importance of and how to continually maintain focus throughout their round.
The 2-day camp concludes with an 18-hole competition where players will utilise all the skills they learnt on day one and put them into match practice.
