Ashleigh Hill is Kicking Goals

Heartland Motors Lone Star athlete Ashleigh Hill is continuing to kick goals as she reaches out towards the big goal of being one of the first Australians to compete in the Olympic Games’ new Karate discipline.

This month, Ashleigh won gold in the Individual Junior Female Kumite at the Australasian School Championships and silver in the Australian Open Championships.

Ashleigh will travel to New Zealand next weekend to compete in the Oceania Championships, in an attempt to qualify for the junior Olympics to be held later in 2018. If Ashleigh is successful at the Oceania Championships she will make her way to Bulgaria for a junior Olympics qualifier event.

Ashleigh is a local Hawkesbury athlete who has been with the Academy for just over 12 months and dedicates herself to continuous development as an athlete.

Ashleigh has renominated for the Heartland Motors Lone Star program again in 2018, the squad will be announced in the coming weeks. If you, or anyone you know, is a talented young athlete interested in nominating for the program please contact the Academy on 4725 6466 or at tiarnna@wsas.com.au
