Academy Offers Strong Sports for 2017

The Academy is pleased to announce that nominations are now open for the 2016/17 sports programs. The Academy’s programs offer a range of benefits for the athletes that are successful in gaining a place within their respective sport. In partnership with the relevant State Sporting Organisations, the Academy provides opportunities for athletes within the western Sydney catchment to develop and refine their skills.

Elite Travel Partners Up

The Academy is proud to announce that the Academy’s corporate family has grown once again, with the addition of Elite Travel as the Academy’s Official Travel Partner. Elite Travel specialise in both Corporate and Leisure Travel and have more than 30 years of airline and travel experience.

Success at the Australian Invitational Youth Games

On Wednesday 13 July, our Netball squad travelled to Maitland to compete in the Australian Invitational Youth Games hosted by the Hunter Academy of Sport. Our Academy had a team play in both Division 1 and Division 2. Both teams should great skill and team work with nothing but professionalism demonstrated throughout the tournament.

State Age Champions

Over the weekend, Campbelltown played host to the U14 State Age Netball Championships. Two Academy Netballers, Matisse Letherbarrow and Sarah Okunbor, played in the Baulkham Hills Representative Team in a weekend of strong competition.

Cyclists Take on Wagga

On Saturday 25 June, Academy cyclists made their way to Wagga Wagga, NSW to compete in the Wagga Wagga Junior Tour in some icey cold conditions. The weekend saw the athletes compete in several races, and come out of their events with some impressive results. On Day 1, the athletes competed in the Road Race & Criterium, Day 2 was the Road Race & Time Trial.

Matisse Shooting for Success

Matisse Letherbarrow is an Academy Netballer who is on the rise to great things, with tremendous skill and some impressive accomplishments already under her belt. At 14, Matisse is one of the youngest Netballers in the squad and tells of how she gains “great advice from the older girls at the Academy.

Thank You Fairfield

On Tuesday 24th May 2016, Fairfield City Council invited the Academy’s staff and local athletes to attend their council meeting. Fairfield City Mayor, Mr. Frank Carbone, spoke of the importance of the Academy in providing young athletes with development opportunities within the elite pathways of the sports on offer.

Do Something! Day

ClubsNSW in partnership with News Corp, the Daily & Sunday Telegraph and News Local have launched a campaign titled “Do Something! Day”. This campaign is designed to encourage and showcase the good things that people do for others. The campaign will run until its official day of celebrations on the 15th June 2016.
