Here Comes Gadd
Josh Gadd is not your typical year 12 student studying for his HSC. On top of the stress of upcoming exams, Josh puts a lot of hours into training and practicing his golf! Training that has paid off once again.
Over the weekend Josh claimed victory in the NSW Open Regional Qualifying event at Griffith Golf Club to secure himself a spot for the second consecutive year in the NSW Open Championships to be held at Twin Creeks Golf & Country Club next month. With matching rounds of one-over par 72 to take the win over Griffith local Matthew Staines.
“I wouldn’t say it was my best golf, but I kept it in play, I putted solidly and did what I had to do, I guess”, Josh told Golf NSW. After an impressive year as the youngest competitor at the 2016 NSW Open, which was held at Stonecutters Ridge, Josh finished the four rounds with a score of 12-under-par and securing a tied spot of 33rd.
Josh feels that the second time around he will be more relaxed, he knows the Twin Creeks course well as it is the home of the Academy golf squad. Josh is confident he will put up a strong fight for the championship.
