Golf

A new squad of 11 athletes has been inducted into the Academy Golf Program for 2010/11 which will again be hosted by Castle Hill Country Club. The squad will participate in specific skills training, education seminars and competition opportunities such as the Academy Games. With the support of Jack Newton Junior Golf all athletes will receive a training manual to assist them with improving all areas of their game.

The Academy’s Golf Program has established some wonderful benchmarks for our athlete high performance programs. In cooperation with Jack Newton Junior Golf , the relevant State body Golf NSW, and with the strong support of the prestigious Castle Hill Country Club, the program has gone from strength to strength.

Technical components are delivered at the Castle Hill Country Club course and a variety of class room based activities also occur at the Club House. Castle Hill Country Club teaching Professional Shane McLeod is the Head Coach and has worked closely with the JNJG to develop exciting program content.

The squad is also provided opportunities to compete against other Academies and attend a variety of Academy functions.

The success of the program has been demonstrated in the progression of these young golfers into NSW State squads and high order amateur achievements.
