Netball

The new 15s squad participated in their first training session on 20th August. The squad watched a thrilling ANL match followed by a training session with Academy coaching staff at the Anne Clarke Centre. The squad will attend 6 hours of training with the Academy's specialised coaching staff and attend the 15s Development Weekend in October.

Netball represents one of the Academy’s strongest High Performance Training Programs, involving squads of both 18 and Over, and 15 Years athletes. With the strong support of Netball NSW and assistance from the NSWIS, the Program provides outstanding development opportunities in line with the Netball Australia national curriculum, delivered by a highly qualified coaching staff.

The 2010 Netball Program features 18 athletes offered scholarships following selection trials in November 2009. Under the guidance of Head Coach Pate Cooper, the squad is undertaking a number of technical development sessions at the Anne Clark Centre, Auburn as well as educational, competition and event activities.

The 2010 Program will also involve selection of a 15 Years development squad who will undertake an abbreviated program in a six week period leading up to the Netball NSW Talent Identification Tournament held in October 2010.
