The Academy’s exciting Rugby League Program provides a unique opportunity for local junior players to compete in the NSW Rugby League’s junior representative competitions for Under 16 (Harold Matthews Shield) and Under 18 (SG Ball Cup) players.
In partnership with the NSW Rugby League, and the Penrith and Parramatta NRL Clubs, the Academy brings together the two squads for a period of 12 weeks between the months of February and May to obtain skill development, competition and event opportunities. A strong coaching and training staff structure is resourced by both NRL Clubs and teams compete against traditional NRL Club junior representative sides.
The objective of this program is to enable local junior rugby league players to receive a high quality development opportunity that enables them to remain within their junior districts and strengthen their respective junior clubs through their development.
The Rugby League Program Partner is the St Marys Rugby League Club who provide strong financial support and access to their outstanding venue at the St Marys Leagues Stadium for Academy team home matches.
The Program’s training base is the respected Patrician Brothers College at Fairfield which provides access to training grounds, gymnasium and classroom facilities.
