Following the establishment of a national focus on development within the sport, involving the adoption of guidelines for elite athlete development provided by Tennis Australia, the Academy’s Tennis Program has been reshaped in consultation with Tennis NSW.

Through the support of Tennis NSW, a new program will be launched in March 2010 involving male and female athletes emerging from the Tennis Talent Development squads across the Western Sydney region being selected into the Academy’s Program.

These athletes will receive educational opportunities and technical support through their involvement with the Academy’s Head Coach, John Thompson (Tennis NSW State Academy Coach) both in the lead up to and during tournament play opportunities.

Coaching sessions are delivered at the State Tennis Centre, Homebush, as well as a variety of venues across the region in coordination with local Associations.
