Rachel Wood is one of the Academy’s bright, new stars. As a member of the Academy’s Auburn Lone Star Program, Rachel competes as a Swimmer and Surf Life Saver. Rachel has been working incredibly hard this year in numerous competitions and has achieved some wonderful results.Details
On 10th April, at just 15 years of age, Academy cyclist Stephen Cuff, put in an incredible effort to win the 2016 Bathurst to Blayney 70km Short Course on 10th April 2016. Sizing up against adult competitors Stephen showed his talent as he took out the Gold medal.Details
The weekend of 8th-10th April saw the Academy’s Hockey, Netball, Golf and Triathlon squads compete in the 2016 ClubsNSW Academy Games. This year the Games were hosted once again by the Central Coast Academy of Sport who did a great job at welcoming all of the Academies from across NSW, and organising such a large scale event. The weekend was a great showcase of sporting talent and in particular our Western Sydney athletes.Details
Lalor Parks’ Gordon Allan was one of the Western Sydney Academy of Sport’s (WSAS) top cyclists in 2013/2014/2015.
Recently competing in the National Para-Cycling Championships in Adelaide, Gordon was a testament to his hard work and incredible ability, when he won gold medals in both the road race and the time trial events.Details
While most were enjoying a relaxing, extended weekend this Easter the Western Sydney Academy of Sport (WSAS) Softball girls were conceding points and hitting home runs at the Annual Easter Tournament in Waverley, Victoria. The tournament ran from Friday 25th March to Monday 28th March, the girls and their coaching staff had a long weekend of competition ahead of them.Details
