The Western Sydney Academy of Sport’s Netball Program provides development opportunities for talented young athletes in the western Sydney region. In partnership with Netball NSW (NNSW) the program provides opportunities for pre-elite netballers in the areas of technical skill, education and personal development, preparing athletes for the next level of elite sport representation.

The Academy Program follows the Netball Australia Develop a Diamond Academy (DADA) program which includes specific skill components, testing and reporting procedures. Together with competition opportunities, this assists athletes to further progress in the netball development pathway.

Duration: October – July

Venues: Netball Central – Sydney Olympic Park

The Program comprises of technical development, athlete education, sports science, fitness elements and personal development opportunities for Academy scholarship holders. The Program aims to prepare athletes for progression to higher levels of individual performance and achievement, specifically selection into U17 and U19 State squads and NSWIS/AIS squads.

Athletes will have the opportunity to compete at the Clubs NSW Academy Games and Australian Invitational Youth Games. Read more here.

The following athletes have been selected to go through to phase three of the trial process. The following athletes will be required to attend the third trial on Tuesday 26 September at Netball Central – arrival by 5:30pm
