In April 2019, softball athlete Bridie Murphy was the recipient of the Penrith Valley Sports Foundations (PVSF) April Junior Sports Star of the Month award. This achievement meant she was nominated for the Junior Sports Star of the Year award.

On Friday night, at the Penrith Valley Sports Foundation Annual Awards Evening Bridie was announced as the 2019 Junior Sports Star of the Year!

Bridie has had a very eventful year. She traveled the USA in June and July with the 2019 Australian U17’s Diamonds squad, traveled to Canberra in May with the 2019 U18’s All Schools NSW squad and competed at Nationals in January playing for the 2019 U17 Girls Victorian squad.

After so much success in the past year, Bridie is truly deserving of this award. Congratulations Bridie!

We’d also like to congratulate alumni Shaylan Whatman who won the 2019 PVSF Senior Sports Star of the Year award! Shaylan was apart of our Softball Development program from 2014 – 2017 and after representing Australia at the U19 Women’s World Cup in California last month she moved to Florida to study at Pensacole State College on a Softball Scholarship.

Congratulations girls!
