The Academy celebrated its 15th Annual Athlete Dinner & Awards Night on Saturday 21 September at St Marys Leagues Club. The dinner was an opportunity to celebrate the involvement of over 240 athletes in the Academy’s programs.
Sporting stars Cameron Bailey and Brenna Tarrant had the chance to meet some of the State’s top politicians while attending a special event at Parliament House to celebrate the role of regional Academies developing some of the State’s most talented young athletes.
On Friday 13 September, Fairfield City Mayor Frank Carbone presented this year’s funding to Academy athletes and CEO Martin Bullock. Three talented athletes from the Fairfield LGA attended the event to share their sporting achievements and goals with the Mayor.
On the 19th August, AFL Sydney and the GWS Giants hosted the Western Sydney Kevin Sheedy Medal Awards Night at Mounties RSL to celebrate the achievements of the AFL Youth within the Western Sydney area. Throughout the course of the night, several of our athletes took home awards.
On Friday 6th September, at the Penrith Valley Sports Foundation Annual Awards Evening Bridie Murphy was announced as the 2019 Junior Sports Star of the Year!
