The Academy is excited to announce that we will be adding two new staff members to our Triathlon squad in the upcoming season. Head Coach James Sweeney will remain in his position and will be joined by Assistant Coach Andrew Wilkinson and Assistant Coach/Manager Robyn Winn.
The Western Sydney Academy of Sport is accepting nominations from athletes interested in nominating for a position with the Academy’s 2021/22 Lone Star Program.
As a resident of The Hills Shire, Rachel Lack was a member of the Western Sydney Academy of Sport from 2007 until 2010. Rachel will make her Olympic debut in Tokyo as a member of the Aussie Spirit Softball Team.
Taylah Tsitsikronis is a talented local Penrith softball athlete who was selected in the Academy Softball program from 2007 until 2011. Taylah will make her Olympic debut with the Australian Spirit in Tokyo!

DOMS, or delayed onset muscle soreness, is exercise related muscle pain that occurs after heavy or unfamiliar exercise, and most commonly occurs after eccentric exercise which is where a muscle lengthens under load such as the down phase of a bench press or squat.

Ideally, you may also be looking at how frequently you train, try to manipulate variables such as the volume and intensity to keep progressing, and incorporate different types of exercise within your routine. On top of this, you may also be trying to keep a good and healthy diet to give your body enough fuel and nutrition.
