The Penrith City Council has generously hosted an Athlete Reception to honour the achievements of 58 local athletes currently holding scholarships with the Western Sydney Academy of Sports (WSAS).
Over the past two decades, this collaborative initiative has provided scholarships for over 790 talented young athletes across the Penrith region.
Mayor Todd Carney presented each athlete with a Certificate of Achievement. These athletes represent a diverse range of sports including volleyball, softball, netball, BMX racing, triathlon, golf, and participants in the Future Stars programs.
Their participation underscores the depth of sporting talent within the Penrith LGA.
This reception serves not only to recognise the abilities of both the Council and WSAS to festering their potential for future success.
