Stephen Cuff Wins Gold in the West

On 10th April, at just 15 years of age, Academy cyclist Stephen Cuff, put in an incredible effort to win the 2016 Bathurst to Blayney 70km Short Course on 10th April 2016. Sizing up against adult competitors Stephen showed his talent as he took out the Gold medal. Stephen told of how most of his competitors base their physical form on the concept that “lighter is better”, however Stephen likes to maintain a heavier stature with the rationale that strength will get him further, which is proving a successful theory.

It was a big weekend of successes for Stephen, taking out Bronze in the NSW Hillclimb and Silver in the Criterium.  In early April, Stephen was awarded Bronze medals in the U17’s category of the 9.8km Australian Hillclimb and the 41.7km Australian Hill Road Race held in Bright, Victoria.
