The Hills Shire Congratulates Academy Athletes
The Hills Shire Council played host to Academy athletes who are residing or competing in The Hills LGA on Wednesday afternoon. The athletes came together at The Hills Shire Council chambers to have afternoon tea with the Mayor Clr Yvonne Keane. Mayor Keane presented all our athletes with a certificate of commendation for dedication to their sports of AFL, Netball, Softball, Golf and Cycling.
The athletes were lucky enough to be given gifts of congratulations by Hills based business and Academy supporters My Sports Tape. Academy partner Castle Hill RSL Club represented by Melanie Morson, who also sits on the Academy’s Board of Directors, was also present to display the support of the Club for our athletes.
Mayor Keane said “I would like to offer my warmest and heartfelt congratulations to our new Western Sydney Academy of Sport inductees. To be accepted into the Academy is a truly amazing achievement and reflects all the hard work, commitment and training these superstars have completed over the years to be the best in their chosen sporting field.”
Mayor Keane went on to say “It’s really exciting to see so many young Hills Shire athletes really making their mark across an array of sports including netball, golf, AFL and cycling. I look forward to celebrating their achievements and inspirational stories and I wish them every success in their future careers.”
Academy CEO, Martin Bullock stated “These wonderful young athletes are a reflection of the skills and passion for their chosen sports they possess.”
“These athletes are also a reflection of the support the Academy receives from The Hills Shire Council and the local business community that assists with our program operations,” Mr Bullock said.
The Academy would like to thank The Hills Shire Council for hosting our athletes and for the councils ongoing support.
