Woolworths Support Local Achievers

Each year at the Academy’s annual Athlete Dinner & Awards Night our Major Scholarship Partner, Woolworths present the highest achieving male and female athlete from the program year with a generous scholarship to utilise on sporting costs and equipment with an added component that goes towards education expenses.

This years winners were cyclist Joshua Brodie and Heartland Motors Lone Star athlete Ashleigh Hill.

This year Joshua was named the NSW Cyclist of the Year after being crowned two-time Australian Champion and making the NSW squads for both the Junior Track and Road Cycling Championships. Ashleigh is a talented Karate athlete who has been a member for the NSW State Team since 2010. Ashleigh is the current NSW State and NSW Opens Champion.

The athletes were very fortunate to receive the award on the night from Woolworths representative Tony Parle, General Manager Corporate Responsibility, Analysis & Reporting.

This award is the pinnacle for Academy athletes each year and we are incredibly proud to partner with such an organisation as Woolworths.
