STRENGTH & CONDITIONING PROGRAM

An essential element of an athlete’s development is their progression in knowledge and skills aligned with strength and conditioning protocols and practices.

The role of the Academy in delivering a holistic program for talented young athletes is to provide a foundation of knowledge, awareness and technical skills that will assist the athletes as they progress to the higher levels of their sport.

The Academy does not seek to provide athletes with extensive programming in this field, but rather it provides an opportunity for athletes to progress their knowledge and skills through their own commitment and disciplines – and through the Academy connecting athletes with high quality professional providers who can deliver personalised advice, programming and monitoring.

Following the conduct of the initial athlete physical assessment, athletes will be provided with a report outlining any areas of concern and/or providing sport specific strength and conditioning plans for each athlete.

Athletes are provided the opportunity to further develop their S&C knowledge and skills by participating in any of the 3 S&C Options available.

OPTION 1 – WSAS Hills Sports High – ASSA S&C PROGRAM

Mondays & Wednesdays 4-6pm (open gym sessions), Hills Sports High School Fitness Centre – During the school term 

Athlete subsidy is $200 per athlete
(WSAS Athlete subsidy provided is for 1 term only – aimed at supporting a monitored program and establishing athlete competency)

OPTION 2 – WSAS SYDNEY WEST HIGH PERFORMANCE S&C PROGRAM 

Includes exclusive access to all Long Term Athlete Development Classes and Recovery Sessions.

 

OPTION 3 – WSAS HrdKAW STRENGTH S&C PROGRAM 

The HrdKAW Athlete Performance Program delivers S&C training through a long-term athlete development program.

Future Champions athletes will join our Athlete Performance Program, which includes:

  • Coaching by Melissa Wu, Raagini Rampal and Josh Wu
  • Individual performance testing to assess parameters such as mobility, functional
    movements, strength, muscular endurance, and power
  • Up to 3x S&C sessions per week
